Mason McCorminck, our Principal of Primary and Curricula Coordinator will be offering a reading workshop for Reception - Year 3 parents at 9:00am on October 3rd. This workshop will look at developing your home reading practices, empowering you to help build comprehension skills in your child, and looking at decoding strategies to invest in helping your child use and understand.
ow>Press>Play is an immersive audio resource that engages primary school children in the curriculum through emotion, imagination and movement.
In a now>press>play Experience every child is given a pair of wireless headphones. Immersed in sound, they become the main character in a story, meeting people, discovering places and solving problems on an educational adventure they’ll never forget.
If you follow us on social media, or Class Dojo, you have probably already seen the pink headphones everywhere. It’s now your chance to have a turn to try out this resource, and hear a bit about how we’re using it at Verita. To see a quick video, click here.
Because there are limited sets of headphones, parents must sign up here to attend. Attendance will be first come, first served. SIGN UP HERE.
The IMYC curriculum morning is aimed for Year 7-9 parents. This session will cover the purpose and framework of this international and inquiry-based curriculum. More importantly, the process of how teachers grade and evaluate student work will also be covered. In essence, this session serves as a comprehensive introductory overview of student learning in Year 7-9.
