French

Psychological studies have shown that speaking two or more languages is a great asset to the cognitive process. Learning a foreign language improves the functionality of the brain by challenging it to recognize, negotiate meaning and communicate in different language systems.
The French classes create a positive foreign language experience through physical, visual and oral activities. They involve games, songs, drawings and coloring. Combining the verbal and kinesthetic together is very effective in the language learning process. Children tend to remember the words and melody of a song especially if hand and body motions are included in the learning process. Meaning is conveyed without translation. This engages children kinesthetically bringing the language into their bodies. Music and song also help to reinforce pronunciation and accents of the foreign language as well as vocabulary and expression.
The classes are taught by a teacher accredited by the French Institute in Bucharest.

In Yoga classes the children are encouraged to have fun and relax while they develop their motor skills (coordination, strength, flexibility and balance), as well as their power to concentrate, to become aware of their bodies and more confident. These classes bring a balance between discipline and spontaneity so that the children learn to listen, while also expressing free and creatively. Spontaneity and Imagination

At the Spontaneity and Imagination Workshop, we are building challenging situations for children, just like those they experience on a daily basis at home, in kindergarten and in school (when they need to collaborate but have divergent ideas; when they need to talk in front of other etc.). This time though, everything is happening through playful exercises, in a relaxed and friendly space, where the children are supported to find their own solutions, exercising their creativity and spontaneity and becoming more confident in them.
The “problematic situations” will arise naturally in the stories that they are inventing and that we facilitate. The lessons they learn in these contexts will help them understand that they can choose to react in many ways regarding to a real situation, while having more courage, empathy for the others and focus on that moment.

Engineering

We are living in a world that is more and more hidden from our eyes.
Everything around us is sealed in a case with buttons and just works. Starting from the belief that knowledge is power, at the Screw and Tommy Workshop, children learn how regular things from day-to-day life are built, what they are made of and how the law of physics apply to better understand the world around them. We will unscrew all sorts of things, from clocks to counters, radios etc. and explore how they work and how they were invented and discover that, through knowledge and curiosity, we have the power over the things around us.
We go from being just simple users to becoming explorers. As we manage to disassemble and study these seemingly closed objects, they become more explicit, tangible, comprehensible and friendly.
Then, perhaps, we can come up with valuable ideas and become creators ourselves.
